Chemical Health Counseling
Chemical Health Counseling
The St. Cloud School District provides chemical health counseling primarily at North & South middle schools and Apollo & Tech high schools, as well as McKinley ALC. Services can be provided at other sites within our district upon request. Our chemical health counselors provide a welcoming and non-judgmental space for students who may be currently experiencing substance misuse, who have a history of substance misuse, or who have been impacted by someone else’s misuse. Upon initially meeting, the student and counselor will develop a plan based on student needs.
We also offer a supportive classroom setting for youth in recovery to continue their education. Please use this link to learn more about McKinley Recovery School. For more information, please contact: Program Coordinator Jenna Fuchs at 320-370-6824, or School Counselor Kara Lund at 320-370-6798.
Referral
Referrals to chemical health counseling can come from a parent/guardian who is concerned about their child’s chemical health use or potential use, a school staff member, administrator, or coach who has concerns, or a student can self-refer. A student may also be referred after receiving a chemical health violation on or off school grounds. If a student should need additional support, we can assist in making a referral to an agency in the community.
